Sacred Geometry
Sacred Geometry is a very vast field. It is based on the belief that mathematical rations are present in everything and have a profound effect on life and our consciousness. According to the principles of sacred geometry, which are often associated with the ancient Greek mathematician Pythagorus (but go back even further, into pre-history), there are "sacred" ratios present in mathematics, architecture, music and other endeavors which are consistent with the fundamental energy of the universe. Sacred geometry can be found in many structures, such as ancient temples, medieval churches and other important buildings. Many of these employed something called the Golden Ratio. Similarly, many Eastern temples were build according to the patterns of mandalas. Crop circles, complex patterns that occur spontaneously in fields, most notably in the British Isles, often display sacred geometry patterns. Of course, the authenticity of crop circles is disputed by many skeptics, but in many cases the complexity of the patterns and the speed at which they appear makes it hard to imagine that they could all be hoaxes. Ley lines, invisible lines of energy that connect sacred spots around the world, are another aspect of sacred geometry. The theory of ley lines is that the earth, like the human body, contains lines of energy like meridians and chakras. At some places the energy is especially focused. These lines often connected ancient monuments and places of worship. Today, principles of sacred geometry are being used in new ways that reflect our technology. There are musical compositions made to balance the two hemispheres of the brain. Artists and other visionaries are always coming up with new patterns, often based on older ones, and putting them into new combinations and expressing them in new mediums, such as computers.
